a little about mr oliver benz
Oliver Benz grew up on a farm outside of Noosa Ville in a small country town called Doonun along the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland Australia. Oliver moved to Sydney to pursue a career in acting at the age of 17 after being accepted into Australia’s most recognized acting schools, Nida.
Whilst at Nida he auditioned to be the lead base player in Sydney’s well-known band the FIX. Early in his days with the band, Benz was approached on a gig by Martin Decourtney, a booker from Chadwick Model Management, with an offer to join the agency. Benz’ career took off as a model, and he rose to prominence as the star in multiple top selling music film clips. He began booking major advertising campaigns and became the brand Ambassador to Australia’s multinational men’s underwear brand, Bonds. Alongside this he booked major campaigns such as Fudge, Ed Hardy and Von Zipper. In 2012 he was cast as the lead role in a pilot for an MTV show called Soundtrack, which was scheduled to air in 2013.
During this whirlwind career, Oliver was also involved in developing and creating a clothing label with a close friend called Love Thy Neighbour, which took off in Australia and is now a hugely recognized and successful brand here in the US. The brand is now called The People Vs. and is worn by prominent names in the fashion and NBA industry.
